  • The market

Thursdays and Saturdays round the market cross: cheese, fish, flowers and the best bread in the county.

  • Schools

St Bride’s primary (rated outstanding) is in the middle of it; the secondary school is a short walk over the bridge.

  • Homes

Stone cottages from the weaving days, grand Victorian terraces and a few mews behind them.

The Old Town is the Larkhaven people picture: stone streets climbing from the river to the castle green, with the market cross at the middle of it.

Homes here are cottages built for the weavers, Victorian terraces built for the mill owners, and a handful of mews behind the big houses. Few have parking; most buyers find they don’t miss it, with the station six minutes away and everything else closer.
